About Brittany Miller Socials

Founded in 2022, Brittany Miller Socials is a freelance social media and email marketing agency that specializes in creating custom, organic content for small businesses to help them build community and sell online. We offer a variety of services including but not limited to personalized coaching, 1:1 content strategies, podcast management and done-for-you social media and email marketing. Based in St. Thomas but serving clients globally, we were privileged to support over 30 small businesses in 2022 and many more since then. I have managed the day-to-day operations mostly independently, working with my partner to provide photography, videography, and podcasting services to clients as needed. We are now thrilled to be growing our small but talented team.

About Me

I am a manifesting generator, meaning I am the visionary behind the business seeing the big picture of what can be. I move very fast and somewhat erratically in my efforts depending on how my creativity strikes me. I often have ideas that are actioned the same day and start a lot of projects with good intentions of finishing them that end up living on my to-do list longer than I’d like. This means priorities and deadlines may shift unexpectedly for you.

As a small business owner, I am very passionate about maintaining the brand and positioning of Brittany Miller Socials. I will be reviewing/giving feedback on all work you do during your probation period. I expect this feedback to be incorporated into future projects as well. While I would like applicants to have experience with content creation, I am willing to teach much of what I know. 

I love my job and tend to work a lot, but when I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my family. I have three beautiful children and a passion for dancing and singing very off-key. I enjoy crafting, reading and learning. I live in St. Thomas but will accept applications from anywhere in the world. Responsibilities:

  • Content Creation – including static image design, carousels, and video editing for reels and other short-form content

  • Content Writing – captions for social media posts

  • Research – conducting market research for new clients such as bios, hashtags, content ideas, copy and more

  • Reporting – for clients to identify growth and areas of improvement going forward

  • Engagement – interacting with ideal clients online to build relationships and community and drive sales

 

Due to the size of the team, there may be select times of the year (ex. Launch periods) when additional responsibilities are needed such as but not limited to, copywriting for emails, websites, podcasts etc., paid ads creation or management, lead gen, systems, web development, support creating and implementing systems etc. Additional responsibilities will depend on individual skill sets.

What Does Success Look Like?

  • Produce eye-catching and engaging visuals that drive conversions and resonate with various target audiences.

  • Measure the success of your work by monitoring key performance indicators, such as reach, engagement metrics, click-through rates, and conversion rates, etc.

  • Maintain consistency in brand voice and style throughout all copy and designs.

  • Prioritize and manage priorities and deadlines within the agreed-upon turnaround time (typically 2-4 days).

  • Collaborate with me and the team to address as needed.

  • Ensure that all copy is error-free, grammatically correct, and free of typos or inconsistencies.

  • Maintain a high standard of quality and attention to detail in all written and visual materials.

  • Working independently to contribute to the success of the company and its strategic direction.

  • Proactively share ideas and suggestions to elevate systems, content creation and more.

Essential Skills & abilities

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in the English language.

  • Significant experience in the online business world and digital marketing.

  • Extensive experience using Canva for content creation.

  • Proficient with video editing and short-form content creation.

  • Ability to think strategically, and review and summarize information.

  • Really enjoy the work you do, hours can pass you by when you get in your zone with something.

  • Always developing your marketing/online business skills through personal development.

  • The ability to multi-task or shift priorities easily. Highly organized and detail-oriented.

  • Ability to take constructive criticism.

  • You'll chat with me about real-life things too, because having a life outside of work is important.

Considered an Asset

  • Experience with Pinterest, LinkedIn, and/or YouTube marketing

  • Paid ads campaign creation and management

  • Systems management or VA work in G Suite, Dubsado, and/or Asana.

  • Experience with copywriting and market research

Hours

This position will start with 5-10 hours per week with the potential to grow into a more full-time/permanent position in the spring of 2024. This can be a fully remote position.

Pay

$18-22 CAD per hour depending on experience. A contractor rate/salary can be negotiated if preferred.

You will also receive access to all my courses/training materials and be paid for your time to go through the ones that are important for your role as part of your onboarding process.

The ideal start date is December 2023 or January 2024, I am flexible based on your holiday schedule.
