Instagram Broadcast Channels

This is one of Instagram’s new features. Broadcast channels allow you to send updates, links, and announcements to your followers in a one-way message thread. Think of it like a direct hotline for your most engaged fans.


Each of these content types serves a different purpose in your strategy. Understanding when to use them helps you show up more intentionally—and that’s where real growth happens.

Plus, Instagram may show the same carousel to followers more than once, starting with a different slide if they didn’t engage the first time which gives you multiple opportunities to engage your audience and share your message with the same post.

This means your content has a higher chance of being shown to non-followers—making Reels one of the best tools for growing your account organically. They're also highly shareable, especially when paired with trending sounds or relatable content.

  • Before-and-after or transformation content – Perfect for creatives, service providers, or coaches.

  • Trending audio with your twist – Hop on a trend but tie it back to your brand message.

Reels give your audience a chance to connect with you—your vibe, your voice, and your values. You don’t need fancy equipment; start with your phone and a clear idea, and let your creativity do the rest.


Stories: Daily Engagement Powerhouse

Pinned Posts & Highlights: Make Key Info Easy to Find

Pinned posts are your chance to showcase key content that you want every visitor to see when they visit your profile. Think of them as your most important posts or those that represent your business the best. You can pin up to 3 posts in your main feed and up to 3 reels in the reels tab


What to Pin:

  • Promotions or Offers – Pin a sale, discount, or special offer to keep it visible.

Pinned posts are easy to spot thanks to the little pushpin icon in the top right of the post, and they ensure that your most relevant content remains at the top of your profile, so visitors don’t miss it.


Highlights: Extend the Life of Your Stories


While Instagram Stories disappear after 24 hours, Highlights let you save them for longer-term visibility. Use Highlights to group your best stories into categories for easier navigation.


How to Use Highlights:

  • Organize by Content Theme – Create Highlights for different content pillars (e.g., “Behind the Scenes,” “Products,” “Customer Testimonials”).

  • Keep Your Profile Neat – Don’t overwhelm new followers with too many Highlights. Keep it clean and relevant.

  • Feature Important Events – Have a Highlight for seasonal events, big launches, or product announcements.


With Highlights, you can keep valuable, evergreen content accessible to your audience, giving them easy access to info that aligns with their interests and needs.


Live & Broadcast Channels: Real-Time & One-to-Many Reach

Going Live is one of the most direct ways to connect with your audience. Whether you’re answering questions, sharing a behind-the-scenes look, or walking through a new product launch, Live video invites real-time interaction.


Why Go Live?

  • Build trust with your audience by showing up authentically

  • Answer questions or provide value in real time

  • Boost visibility—Instagram often notifies followers when you’re Live


Live sessions feel more personal and immediate, creating space for connection and community-building. You can also save the Live replay to your grid or Stories for ongoing engagement.

Broadcast Channels: One-to-Many Messaging

Broadcast Channels are a newer feature that lets creators and business owners send mass updates to their audience through Instagram’s messaging system. Think of it as a casual email list inside the app.


Best Uses for Broadcast Channels:

  • Drop reminders for events, offers, or new content
