Table Of Contents

November Month Long Social media Calendar Ideas

  • Movember - an annual event when men grow moustaches to raise awareness for men's health issues. If you have staff who are participating in Movember, share pictures of the moustache growth throughout the month. You can even share facts about men's health, create a giving campaign for your followers and get your audience to share pictures of their moustache growth (and tag you) throughout the month as well. Social media is all about community so engage them in what you're doing!

  • National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) - an event where authors aim to write full manuscripts in 30 days. If you're a business who sells books you could do a month long feature in your stories or feed sharing 30 of your favourite authors and details about them. If you're a business that supports authors like publishers, illustrators, VA's etc. this is your opportunity to share your services and also your resources for current and aspiring authors. Promote lead magnets, blog articles on topics like 'should you write a book?', 'how to get your first novel published', 'how to write a story that sells' etc.

  • Financial Literacy Month - focuses on bringing financial awareness to individuals, if you have finanial products this is your month to make them shine. Consider a month long campign sharing facts, educational info, tools etc. with strong CTA's to purchase your products or services. People need to see the same message, on average 12+ time before they're ready to purchase, so talk about it all month long! Here's a conversation with Kyle Fowler about financial literacy & paying off debt:

Week Long Ideas For Your November Social Media Calendar

  • International Games Week (Nov 7 - 13) - it's time to celebrate games of all kinds, board games, video games, sudoku, you name it! If you're an avid game lover like me it would be a great time to create a blog or social media post about your favourite games to play. Consider hosting a game night if you have a restaurant or physical location people can visit and share their passion for games.

Ideas for (Almost) Everyday of November

  • November 1:

    • World Vegan Day - there's a growing population of people with food sensitivities, sharing recipes, resources or social media accounts you like to follow for cooking inspiration is always a great idea for your stories

    • National Author's Day - if you've written a book today's the day to promote it! Take the promotion from a different angle and talk about your experience getting headshots for your author picture or how you wrote your author bio. People love learning more about the 'behind-the-scenes' process that goes into creating things.

    • Stress Awareness Day - stress is everywhere, sharing a roundup of your favourite products to reduce the stress in your life. This would be great story content to connect with your audience.

  • November 2: Day of the Dead - celebrate life and death and create some stories sharing something that gives you life (you enjoy doing) and something that absolutely drains you (the death of your energy). This can be about you personally or activities in your business, the key is to create a personal connection with your audience.

  • November 3: Cliche Day - create a reel sharing some of the classic cliches you've seen in your industry and why you're over them! You can also share some ideas of other things people can do that aren't cliche. This topic works for product or service businesses. Try a reel with b-roll and text on screen or hop on camera for a minute and talk to your audience like you're having a min vent session with a friend. Your audience will love your authenticity.

  • November 4: Common Sense Day - this is another great post opportunity where you share something about your industry that should be common sense but isn't. What is one thing you audience can do/learn today to give them more common sense about __ (you area of expertise).

  • November 5: Zero Tasking Day - As a person who gets a gold medal in multi-tasking, this day doens't appeal to me but anyone can create a reel sharing 'a day in the life' video. If you're someone who can focus solely on one task for the day, share what one task you're working on, or if you're not working on anything, share what you're doing instead. Behind the scenes content is so powerful for creating connection and peaking curiosity with your audience.

  • November 6: Job Action Day - Create a carousel post or reel sharing the top 5 pieces of advice you've ever been given and use the caption to explain how those pieces of advice impacted you and got you to where you are today. This will create a connection with your audience and inspire your followers to take action of their own - maybe even taking action to work with you!

  • November 8: STEM/STEAM Day - Do you have a STEAM activity you can share with your audience for them to engage their kids in educational activities?

  • November 9:

    • World Quality Day - share the processes or procedures you have in place to ensure the quality of your products and services. If you have testimonials raving about the quality you offer pop one of those into a quote template or reel and describe your process in the caption.

    • World Freedom Day - create a post talking about what freedom looks like to you and why starting your business is helping you work towards that goal. This woul dbe a great carousel or reel sharing snippets of your life and the freedom you now have. This is a transformational post and your audience will resonate with it if it's a transformation they are also looking for.

  • November 10: International Accounting Day - owning a business can make accounting confusing if you don't have a head for numbers. Share any financial resources you have, like this episode of the Go Get Great podcast where Sarah Moser and I talk about accounting for your business and how you can make it easier!

  • November 11: Remembrance Day - I want to note that you don't need to celebrate or recognize every holiday if it doesn't have a connection to your or business but if you have a personal connection to remembrance day you can create a post or do a video in your stories talk about the connection.

  • November 13: World Kindness Day - spread some kindness today and share a personal experience where someone showed you kindness or where a business went above and beyond for you and you really appreacte it. If it's someone you can tag in the post or story make sure you do so they see your appreciation!

  • November 15: I Love to Write Day - repurpose your existing content and create a post sharing a blog post you had fun writing. Your newer followers will appreciate you sharing resources with them, and it's a great reminder for your old followers to go back and check something they might not have seen before. This was one of my favourite blog posts to write, go check it out!

  • November 16: National Entrepreneurs' Day - Connect with your younger entrepreneur self and talk about what motivated you to start your business, many people have an 'I never thought I'd be an entrepreneur' stories which your audience would love to hear! You can also do a shoutout in your stories to some of your favourite entrepreneurs, be sure to tag them in the stories too!

  • November 17: National Unfriend Day - no content creation needed here but this is a good reminder to go through the list of people you follow and remove accounts that no longer resonate with you. It's also a great reminder to remove inactive email subscribers.

  • November 19: Have A Bad Day Day - we all have them and individuals and business owners, let's normalize them by talking about them and sharing tips to help you shake off the funk and give you the motivation to keep going. A hook like "3 tips to overcome your bad days to keep kicking a$$" would be very catchy. For bonus points, you turn that into a blog as well.

  • November 20: Absurdity Day - create a post sharing the most absurd thing(s) you've heard as a business owner and talk about why they aren't true. This is especially great for service providers to address the roadblocks people have about working with you.

  • November 21: False Confession Day - we've all played 2 truths and a lie before, so let's do it again and see how many of your followers you can stump! It's a great way to increase your engagement by encouraging people to comment on your posts.

  • November 24: Evolution Day - it's before and after time! If your business, brand etc. have undergone a transformation whip out some before and after photos for a carousel post or a reel. If your evolution was a long time ago, end with a CTA asking your audience if they remember your 'old' self/brand.

  • November 28: Thanksgiving (USA) - if you are a US based business you'll want to celebrate this holiday. If you're a Canadian business but have a large number of US clients and followers you can still recognize the holiday. Try posting something like, sharing recipes and gratitude are popular for Thanksgiving, and I'm here for it. I love a good recipe and there's always room for more gratitude posts so don't skip it just because you've done it before. Also, if you have Thanksgiving products or promos, make sure you promote those too!

  • November 29: Black Friday Marketing Strategies - this is a weekend many businesses offer huge discounts and promotions and is a huge spending season for individuals and business owners. Whether you decide to run a promotion or not you can communicate with your audience in advance via social media and email marketing. If you have a promotion running, you'll want to create a post about it and share content in your stories to bring awareness and drive sales

  • November 30: Small Business Saturday Posts - shout out yourself and your fellow small business owners in a post or a story. Let's create a community of business owners who support each other! If you haven't joined me on social media I'd love for you to come say hi and let me know you read this blog post!
